Blog Much?

SOOO...That was a LONG semester....I fell of the face of the planet since I decided it was a SUPER idea to take Anatomy, Chemistry, and microbiology in the same semester.  A lot has happened this semester. Miss A turned 2! We have started overnights with her dad.  She seems to have fun over there and I have a night to sew.  My boyfriend and I are moving in together soon! Miss A really does love him and he loves her.  Since Ainsleigh will be with her dad tomorrow night I will come up with a tutorial to put up.

Am I alone now?!

Sorry for such a delay in posting a new tutorial!!! Miss A had been cutting a molar :'( poor baby.

bonus pic of Miss A because she is PRECIOUS
She has been super clingy and not sleeping well but she FINALLY WENT TO BED BEFORE 2 AM!!!!! So I finally had the time to sew something! Today's tutorial is a diaper clutch. Miss A is getting old enough that if I won't be gone too long all I need is a few diapers and wipes so I made something to put them in!

Materials
1/2 yard cotton print fabric
1/2 yard fleece
9 1/2 " x  18 " Fusible Interfacing
Contrasting thread
6" pieces of velcro

Now first off you are going to cut 9 1/2' off the bottoms of your half yards of fabric. You want to lay the fabric so that the length is 1/2 a yard like this
And cut 9 1/2" off the bottom of both pieces. You can throw away the excess fleece but keep the piece of cotton print to make the pocket to hold your diapers and wipes

Next you are going to iron the fusible interfacing to the pocket piece to make it sturdier. Then Hem one of the long edges so that you wont have a raw edge when it is attached. I used a decorative stitch but you don't have to.

After that you are going to lay all your pieces out so you can pin them together. Make sure you place the pocket on the fleece right side up and then lay the cotton print over top of that right side down like this

Next you need to pin all the way around and stitch the pieces together with a straight stitch using a 5/8 seam.

Make sure you leave about a 5" opening so that you can turn it right side out.

Once you have stitched it you need to cut the corners at an angle so that you can turn them. I used pinking shears to cut mine but you don't have to. Make sure not to clip your seam by accident.

Once you have clipped your corners turn it right side out and press it and turn under the edges of your hole. Run a stitch all the way around so that you can run a stitch all the way around to make it look more finished.  I used a decorative one but you don't need to.

Once you have done that pin your velcro 1" from the top and stitch it down.

I would suggest putting the things you want to carry in it inside and rolling it up and then placing the second piece of velcro so that it is in a good place.
And then you're done! I made mine to match my purse so they look cute together! And when you roll it out it doubles as a changing pad! If  you love this project but don't have the time to make one please feel free to message me at my etsy shop for a custom order!

The Cousins

Miss A met her cousins Jeannie, Hannah, and Noah today.

I am so glad we got to see them today. We are watching their marching band perform tomorrow before we go to Memphis with Alyssa. My vaca is drawing to a close which makes me kind of sad. I will be glad to be back home though with my family and my kitties.

Rhett Butler

My Momma

My Daddy

Me and my sister!
I don't have a picture of my other cat Beau. He's afraid of the flash haha. Well I hope Miss A goes to bed soon.

As you can see, Her Royal Highness is engrossed in Phineas and Ferb. She is cutting a molar so she hasn't been sleeping well. So neither has Momma haha. Goodnight all!

Down Home Cookin'

I finished my preserves today!

Miss A is finally sleeping. I finished another row of my quilt for her. I will be posting a tutorial some time soon.

Babies are so sweet. Especially mine haha. I came back into the room we are sleeping in and she opened her eyes and said "Momma! Kiss?" and I kissed her and got in bed and she rolled over and snuggled up close and put her head on my shoulder and fell right back to sleep. I am so lucky to be her mother. She loves me so much. She is the sweetest baby I have ever known. Most of the time haha. My mother always told me she hoped I had a daughter just like me, and I did. She is so stubborn. But she is hilarious. She is my sunshine and makes every day wonderful. No matter what has happened that day all she has to do is look at me with her crinkly nose smile where she sticks out her 2 bottom teeth (her Aunt Allie from Skye's The Limit Charmsknows what I'm talking about!)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's the one right up there. Who can still be in a bad mood after seeing that!? No one. Well tomorrow we are going over to my cousin Genie's to visit in the morning so off to bed! More pics tomorrow!

Family Ties

I am so happy I'm home. Miss A met her Great Uncle Bob and her Great Aunt Gail today.

She loved them! I had a great time visiting with my Uncle Bob and hearing stories about my Papa, who died before my parents met, and my Great Grandfather. My Aunt Gail helped me make peach preserves. I enjoyed cooking with her a great deal.

Well That Figures

Miss A went to bed at a decent hour but now I can't sleep. >.< I have started working on a quilt for her!

Sneak peek on that! I will be posting a tutorial on it when I get back from my vaca. It is super easy and super cute. I am doing mine by hand because it is only a small quilt but you can certainly do it on a machine.

We took Miss A to Safari Park today and she had a big time!

She liked all the animals but she laughed and squealed every time we saw an Emu and she kept saying "Bird Bird!!!" I guess she thought they were awesome haha.

We are having a good time for sure. My Great Uncle Bob is coming to visit us tomorrow I am very excited to see him. He is like a grandfather to me as my dad's dad died before my parents even met. More pics tomorrow!
