The Cousins

Miss A met her cousins Jeannie, Hannah, and Noah today.

I am so glad we got to see them today. We are watching their marching band perform tomorrow before we go to Memphis with Alyssa. My vaca is drawing to a close which makes me kind of sad. I will be glad to be back home though with my family and my kitties.

Rhett Butler

My Momma

My Daddy

Me and my sister!
I don't have a picture of my other cat Beau. He's afraid of the flash haha. Well I hope Miss A goes to bed soon.

As you can see, Her Royal Highness is engrossed in Phineas and Ferb. She is cutting a molar so she hasn't been sleeping well. So neither has Momma haha. Goodnight all!

Down Home Cookin'

I finished my preserves today!

Miss A is finally sleeping. I finished another row of my quilt for her. I will be posting a tutorial some time soon.

Babies are so sweet. Especially mine haha. I came back into the room we are sleeping in and she opened her eyes and said "Momma! Kiss?" and I kissed her and got in bed and she rolled over and snuggled up close and put her head on my shoulder and fell right back to sleep. I am so lucky to be her mother. She loves me so much. She is the sweetest baby I have ever known. Most of the time haha. My mother always told me she hoped I had a daughter just like me, and I did. She is so stubborn. But she is hilarious. She is my sunshine and makes every day wonderful. No matter what has happened that day all she has to do is look at me with her crinkly nose smile where she sticks out her 2 bottom teeth (her Aunt Allie from Skye's The Limit Charmsknows what I'm talking about!)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's the one right up there. Who can still be in a bad mood after seeing that!? No one. Well tomorrow we are going over to my cousin Genie's to visit in the morning so off to bed! More pics tomorrow!

Family Ties

I am so happy I'm home. Miss A met her Great Uncle Bob and her Great Aunt Gail today.

She loved them! I had a great time visiting with my Uncle Bob and hearing stories about my Papa, who died before my parents met, and my Great Grandfather. My Aunt Gail helped me make peach preserves. I enjoyed cooking with her a great deal.

Well That Figures

Miss A went to bed at a decent hour but now I can't sleep. >.< I have started working on a quilt for her!

Sneak peek on that! I will be posting a tutorial on it when I get back from my vaca. It is super easy and super cute. I am doing mine by hand because it is only a small quilt but you can certainly do it on a machine.

We took Miss A to Safari Park today and she had a big time!

She liked all the animals but she laughed and squealed every time we saw an Emu and she kept saying "Bird Bird!!!" I guess she thought they were awesome haha.

We are having a good time for sure. My Great Uncle Bob is coming to visit us tomorrow I am very excited to see him. He is like a grandfather to me as my dad's dad died before my parents even met. More pics tomorrow!

Lazy Summer Days

Miss A met her Uncle Paul Ray today

It was slightly cooler than the surface of the sun here today so I let her play in the yard some.

She loved playing outside but she even managed to get dirt in her ears so she has to take a bath tonight haha. All in all a good day!

Late Night HW

I just finished writing a paper for my PSY 230 class about the transition into parenthood and thought you all might want to read it.

Transition Into Parenthood

The transition into parenthood is the single hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever accomplished. I am a very young mother by today’s standards. I am 22 years old.  I was 21 when my daughter Ainsleigh was born. It was the best and scariest day of my life.

There are many hard things about parenting. I am a single mother. Ainsleigh’s father is still in her life but not as much as when we were married. I am pretty much on my own there. We live with my parents, which makes the financial strain much easier to bear.  When Ainsleigh was born I knew it would be hard but I was not prepared for all the changes. At 21 I pictured myself going out and partying and taking college courses and playing collegiate lacrosse. Instead I was changing diapers, waking up 4 times a night and co sleeping.

The hardest thing in my opinion no matter what age you become a parent is adjusting to the fact that everything you do impacts this tiny person and from here on out they come first over everything.  My daughter only sees her father about once a week so when she gets home from his house she stays awake most of the night to see me because she has been away from me all day and that is not the norm for her.  She doesn’t care what I did all day or that I am tired all she wants is her mommy to read her another book or play peek a boo one more time.  I may be exhausted but I will pull her into my bed and read to her and play games until she gets sleepy and then I put her to bed.

Another thing that is hard to get used to is having no “you” time.  Since Ainsleigh started walking I can’t even go to the bathroom by myself.  She wants to spend every single second she is awake with me because I am her favorite person.  She even wants to shower with me.

Lastly it is hard because nothing is just yours anymore.  I still co-sleep so Ainsleigh sleeps in my bed.  She eats table food so even is she has the exact same thing she wants to eat off my plate and drink out of my cup.  Since she started walking she is in everything all the time.  I have no personal space at all.  Sometimes she still wants me to wear her, I am an Attachment Parent, which is getting hard as
she weights 21 lbs now.  I would say that transitioning into parenthood is hard and it isn’t always fun but it is very rewarding.
What is rewarding about parenting is when Ainsleigh said “Momma!” for the first time, or how she thinks yelling “PWEASE MOMMA” gets her anything she wants. We are working on manners. She doesn’t get that screaming please isn’t the same as asking nicely but at least she says it.
When she wakes up in the morning she cuddles up next to me and pats my face and babbles at me until I wake up.  She slobbers on my face and yells “mwha” really loud. That is her version of kisses.
While parenting can be very hard it is worth all of the late nights, wake ups, and diaper changes when your child hugs you and kisses you and tells you they love you.

Picture Frame Tray

I have been looking everywhere for a cute tray for my dresser and I couldnt find one. So I made one!
It was super easy to make. And pretty cheap too.

Supplies
  1.  Picture Frame
  2. piece of decorative paper (my frame was a 5 X 7 so I got a small piece)
  3. Glass etching cream
  4. Wooden feet
  5. Adhesive (I got Contact Cement)
  6. Paint
  7. Paint brush

The first thing I did was paint the feet to match my frame so they were dry when it came time to attach them
They look like this before hand. They are flat on the bottoms.
I used heavy paint so it covered evenly.
Painted!

The next thing I did was remove the prop thingy from the back of the frame.

Be careful pulling it off I took a chunk out of the back of my frame >.<

Then I cut my paper to fit.

I thought it looked like wallpaper.

Then I just applied the etching cream all over the glass on the frame to give it a worn look.

Then I applied the glue to the feet and the spots they would be attached to the bottom of the frame.  The instructions said to let it stand for 10 minutes before you attach them.

Glue I used.

 Then I attached the feet!

And DONE!

Also I GOT NEW CHARMS IN TODAAAAYYY!!!!
Since you all are so wonderful I am gonna give you a sneak peek. Feel free to comment and ask for custom orders.  Anyway here they are!

I leave for vacation tomorrow and I am pretty excited. I am going home to visit family. I will continue to post from there but it wont be as often. I will post pics soon!

2:22 AM

It is 2:22 AM. And I know that because Miss A is awake. Again. We got a new bed frame yesterday and apparently the drawers are too exciting. She is in the phase where she likes to take things out and put things back in and now my bed had drawers under it. Worst idea I've ever had. So here I am writing my first blog post while wearing A in the Moby. I want to make this blog about crafting, and kids, and tattoos. That's who am. I am a single mom and putting myself through school. I run an Etsy store (the link is in my sidebar!) and I craft A LOT. I can't wait to show you some crafts. Feel free to comment if there is something you really want me to do a tutorial on! I'm gonna try to get Miss A to sleep but tomorrow I will have a tutorial up for you all!
